About This Role

Summary:

The Commi is responsible for assisting in the preparation of food items as directed by the senior chef. This role involves basic food preparation tasks, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, and ensuring efficient workflow.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• A Commi is responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes in a restaurant kitchen.
• They may be tasked with cooking meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients using a variety of techniques including frying, boiling, braising, roasting, etc.
• Prepares batches of food that are cooked to order or kept warm until ordered and sold; this may include such food items as hamburgers or fried chicken.
• Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as griddles, grills, or deep fryers.
• Prepares, washes, and cuts food to be cooked.
• Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food order slips or through verbal directions; verifies the quality and quantity of all orders.
• Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with customer instructions.
• Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food
• preparation areas, cooking services, and dishes and utensils.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven 2+ years of experience as a Commi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced culinary environment.
• Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Attention to detail and commitment to upholding quality and safety standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Commi Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
