We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Strategy Unit Head to lead the development and execution of revenue generation strategies, sponsorship programs, and commercial partnerships.

This leadership role will be responsible for driving financial sustainability through innovative commercial initiatives, strategic stakeholder engagement, and the optimization of revenue opportunities across a diverse portfolio of projects, events, and programs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new commercial opportunities, securing strategic sponsorships, and building strong relationships with corporate, government, and international partners while leading a high-performing team.

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct market research and commercial analysis to identify new revenue streams and partnership opportunities.
  • Assess financial performance across projects, events, and programs, identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate and pursue commercial opportunities including sponsorships, licensing agreements, retail partnerships, and other sustainable revenue models.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of commercial initiatives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development of strategic pricing models, go-to-market plans, and channel strategies.

• Sponsorship & Partnership Management

  • Develop compelling sponsorship propositions and tailored partnership packages.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with sponsors and strategic partners.
  • Lead sponsorship negotiations to secure mutually beneficial agreements and maximize commercial value.
  • Ensure successful delivery of sponsorship benefits, activations, and contractual commitments.
  • Track sponsorship performance and revenue targets, providing regular reporting and analysis.
  • Develop engagement plans for key sponsors, ensuring consistent communication and relationship management.
  • Establish frameworks to measure and report sponsorship ROI and commercial performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective servicing and reporting for sponsorship accounts.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial strategy team.
  • Foster strong collaboration across departments to achieve strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, partners, and external organizations to advance commercial priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in commercial strategy, strategic planning, sponsorships, partnerships, or business development.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in revenue generation, sponsorship acquisition, and stakeholder management.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute revenue growth strategies.
  • Experience negotiating and managing complex partnership and sponsorship agreements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop policies, frameworks, and operational guidelines.
  • High proficiency in business software and reporting tools.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and execution excellence.
