Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician
Company: Mr. C Refrigeration Location: Columbus, OH — applicants must currently live within approximately 25 miles of Columbus Pay: $55–$55/hour, based on experience Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
Mr. C Refrigeration provides installation, emergency repair, and preventative maintenance services for commercial and industrial refrigeration, cold storage, and HVAC equipment.
We’re open to experienced service technicians as well as developing technicians who have a solid foundation and a strong desire to grow. You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you must be motivated to learn, take feedback, and build your troubleshooting and repair skills.
If your experience is primarily preventative maintenance, we’re willing to consider you—provided your goal is to advance into a well-rounded commercial HVAC/R service technician. This role requires a commitment to developing beyond routine maintenance and taking on increasingly complex service work.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities will grow with your demonstrated skills and experience:
Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment within your capabilities, with team support as needed
Develop your ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues
Identify equipment problems and recommend necessary repairs
Test systems after repairs to confirm proper operation
Communicate findings and service needs clearly with customers and team members
Complete service documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area
Participate in ongoing training and apply what you learn in the field
What We’re Looking For
Must currently live within approximately 25 miles of Columbus, OH
EPA Certification required
Commercial HVAC/R service experience preferred; candidates with less experience and strong growth potential will be considered
Foundational hands-on HVAC/R knowledge and mechanical aptitude
A strong desire to develop diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills
Willingness to ask questions, accept coaching, and apply feedback
Initiative, dependability, and ownership of your work
Ability to manage assigned tasks and work more independently as your skills develop
Professional communication and customer service skills
Valid driver’s license
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Technical school HVAC/R training or equivalent field experience preferred
Three or more years of commercial HVAC/R service experience is a plus, not a requirement. Your foundation, work ethic, and commitment to progressing in the trade matter.
Physical Requirements
This hands-on field position requires regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling; lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; climbing ladders and working at elevated heights; and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
