Commercial Analyst

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain product cost models for labour, raw materials, and other variable costs to support target gross margins.
• Monitor material prices, labour inflation, and market trends and recommend price adjustments to mitigate margin erosion.
• Create and validate customer quotes, price lists, and promotional pricing structures.
• Provide validated commercial data to Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain for budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiations.
• Maintain product setups, labour timings, and BOMs in the ERP system, including changes driven by materials, redesigns, and suppliers.
• Support product exits and removal of associated BOMs and timings while avoiding customer impact or business risk.

Essential skills and experience

• Demonstrable cost analyst or product data experience in manufacturing.
• Advanced proficiency in data modelling and analytics.
• Ability to turn complex data into clear reports and recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Desirable skills

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.

Pay and contract

• Expected salary is £46,500–£50,000, dependent on experience.
• Permanent position, 38.75 hours per week.
• Hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00 attract a night premium of £4.75 per hour.

• Based at the Herbert Parkinson office in Darwen, Lancashire.
