Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Advisor to join our strategy and commercial team supporting major energy infrastructure, oil & gas, and industrial development initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating commercial opportunities, developing business models, assessing investment viability, and providing strategic commercial guidance across the energy value chain, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, market dynamics, and stakeholder requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial evaluation activities for energy infrastructure, oil & gas, logistics, storage, and related business opportunities.
  • Assess the commercial viability of infrastructure and energy-related investments, providing clear, data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain key commercial deliverables including Commercial Assessments, Business Cases, Investment Evaluation Reports, Commercial Frameworks, Revenue Model Assessments, Market Positioning Strategies, Partnership, Joint Venture Evaluations, Pricing and Tariff Studies
  • Evaluate customer segments, revenue streams, market opportunities, and growth potential across the energy sector.
  • Develop commercial frameworks and business models to support strategic growth initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Analyze contract structures, commercial agreements, pricing mechanisms, and partnership models across the energy value chain.
  • Assess the commercial implications of infrastructure development, storage facilities, logistics networks, and related energy assets.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies of commercial practices, business models, and contractual frameworks across relevant industries and geographies.
  • Lead and support market engagement activities with prospective customers, investors, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support negotiations and commercial discussions with clients, partners, investors, and service providers.
  • Evaluate investment structures, commercial risks, and value creation opportunities associated with proposed projects.
  • Develop strategic narratives and commercial positioning strategies to support business development and investment attraction efforts.
  • Interface with Strategy, Finance, Business Development, Operations, Legal, and Executive Management teams to ensure integrated commercial solutions.
  • Support strategic planning, portfolio optimization, and business growth initiatives through commercial analysis and advisory services.
  • Provide commercial input into investment decisions, feasibility studies, and long-term business planning activities.
  • Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, commercial trends, and market dynamics affecting the energy sector.
  • Resolve commercial queries and provide timely advisory support to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Master's Degree (MBA, Finance, Economics, or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of commercial advisory, business strategy, or commercial development experience within the energy sector.
  • Strong experience in energy infrastructure assessment, business case development, and commercial evaluation of large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience evaluating investment opportunities, commercial structures, and business models within oil & gas, energy, logistics, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Solid understanding of commercial agreements, pricing mechanisms, storage and logistics business models, and energy value chains.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with National Oil Companies (NOCs), International Oil Companies (IOCs), traders, investors, infrastructure operators, and strategic partners.
  • Previous Middle East energy sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives, investment evaluations, and commercial negotiations is preferred.
