Collections Specialist

About the role
Support day-to-day Collections operations by managing overdue loan repayments and outstanding fees while delivering a positive customer experience.
Work with customers, internal stakeholders, administrators, and recovery agencies to resolve outstanding payments and support collections outcomes.
Provide broader operational support to the Risk team.
What you will do
- Handle inbound enquiries about outstanding payments, fees, and loan arrears.
- Follow up on suspended and impaired loan accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve repayment of outstanding debts.
- Process banking requests, default listings, fee write-offs, and other administrative tasks.
- Liaise with third-party debt collection agencies on external recovery of written-off bad debts.
- Handle deregistration, external administration, and liquidation cases; liaise with administrators and determine recovery actions.
- Manage at-risk merchants with fraud and payments risk to mitigate incidents.
- Help develop standard operating procedures, revise processes, and identify risk.
What you will bring
- 1–2 years in collections, accounts receivable, payments operations, or financial operations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, formulas, data transformation, and large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; comfortable navigating complex data.
- Experience in customer communication, case investigation, and issue resolution.
- Good understanding of financial products and services.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
