Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Coating Inspector role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Coating Inspector will perform daily inspections of surface preparation, painting, coating, and insulation activities to verify compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
include reviewing and interpreting technical documents (such as ITPs, method statements, and P&IDs), monitoring environmental and surface conditions, and documenting all inspections, measurements, and test results.
The role involves coordinating with site supervisors, contractors, and QA/QC teams to address non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and support root-cause analysis when required.
The Coating Inspector will also participate in toolbox talks, safety walkdowns, and audits to promote safe work practices and consistent quality performance.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in coatings, paint systems, and related inspection techniques, including surface preparation and application procedures.
- Experience with insulation work on piping, equipment, and structures, including inspection of materials, installation quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Proven background in quality control, including review of ITPs, inspection reports, test certificates, and adherence to international standards (e.g., ISO, NACE, SSPC).
- Effective supervisory skills to oversee coating and insulation activities, guide contractors, and ensure timely completion of work to quality and safety standards.
- Relevant certification in coating inspection (e.g., NACE, SSPC, FROSIO or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects, ideally in an on-site construction or maintenance environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, codes, and technical procedures.
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills, with proficiency in basic office and inspection software.
- Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to HSE policies and site regulations.
