China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd (Tanzania) is a contractor for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project.
The EACOP Project is a major infrastructure initiative aimed at constructing and operating an underground, cross-border pipeline to transport crude oil for export to international markets.
Extending 1,443 km in total, the pipeline spans 1,147 km within Tanzania, connecting Uganda's Hoima District to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga.
The project plays a crucial role in regional economic development and offers significant opportunities for professional growth within the energy sector.
Role Description
The Coating Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the proper application and quality assurance of protective coatings used in pipeline construction as part of the EACOP Project.
Key tasks include inspecting coating materials, verifying their adherence to design specifications, and conducting assessments during surface preparation and application processes.
The role also involves documenting inspection findings and collaborating with construction teams to address any discrepancies.
This is a full-time on-site position based in the United Arab Emirates.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Coating Inspection, Surface Preparation, and Quality Control processes
- Proficient in using coating inspection tools and equipment such as dry film thickness gauges and holiday detectors
- Strong knowledge of industry standards related to pipeline coatings and corrosion protection
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with project management and engineering teams
- Relevant certifications in coating inspection (e.g., NACE, FROSIO, or equivalent) are a significant advantage
- Prior experience in pipeline or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred
- Ability to work in on-site conditions and adapt to challenging environments
