Teacher Aide

  • Assist with classroom preparations, for example, bulletin boards, duplicating materials, material preparations
  • Work with students upon request of the teacher
  • Facilitate small groups
  • Assist in the library
  • Assist with bus/car duty

Office Aide

  • Assist paraprofessionals in office with any tasks assigned, for example, answering phones, admitting visitors, filing, alphabetizing and any other help needed

Nurse'S Aide

  • Check student in/out of clinic
  • Assist with entering shot and or medical records in computer database
  • Fill in and assist with tasks as needed by the school nurse

Mental Demands And Physical Demands And Enviornment Factors

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
  • Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and twisting
  • Motion: Frequent walking and reaching
  • Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
  • Enviornment: Work both inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to bioligical hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases)
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Qualifications

  • 11th or 12th grade students at Deer Park High School
  • Must be enrolled in the DPHS Career Preparations Program and completed the preliminary application process for the program. See teacher for application.
