The position works within an AS9100-certified quality system handling controlled and export-restricted goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills running Haas, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
  • Design, select, and build workholding and fixturing solutions for repeatable production.
  • Load, indicate, and align parts, fixtures, and vises to hold required tolerances.
  • Set tool offsets, work offsets, and program zero before production.
  • Read and edit G-code for in-process adjustments at the machine control.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D models to plan machining strategies.
  • Run first-article and production parts while maintaining tolerance and finish requirements.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection against print specifications.
  • Maintain AS9100 setup sheets, process sheets, and revision control documentation.
  • Follow controlled goods and export control requirements for regulated materials and data.
  • Troubleshoot setup, fixturing, and in-cycle issues and collaborate with technical teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop-floor work area.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3–5 or more years of CNC setup and operating experience, including multi-axis experience.
  • Proven experience setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills.
  • Strong knowledge of fixturing and workholding.
  • Ability to read and manually edit G-code at the machine control.
  • Ability to work independently from drawing through completed part.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 documentation and quality procedures.
  • Understanding of controlled goods and export control restrictions.
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Ability to select tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAM programming experience, with SolidCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar software.
  • Exposure to 5-axis simultaneous programming.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another tightly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with probing systems and in-machine inspection.
  • Technical diploma or certificate in CNC Machining, Tool and Die, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Compensation

  • The position is full-time.
  • Pay is listed at $20.00–$50.00 per hour.

Workplace and Physical Requirements

  • Work location is in person in a shop-floor environment.
  • The role requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
