CMDB Engineer
Role Overview

Maintain CMDB quality and stewardship, govern configuration item lifecycle and relationships, and support traceable data remediation.
Work with Observability, service owners, and Digital Workplace while maintaining approved platform rules.
Experience and Certifications
- At least 5 years of overall configuration or data-management experience, including at least 4 years with ServiceNow.
- Mandatory: current ServiceNow CSA and ITIL 4 Foundation; validate credentials and applicable maintenance status.
- Desirable: CIS-Discovery, Service Mapping, or relevant CMDB/CSDM learning credentials.
Required Skills
- Maintain CI classes and relationships, imports and transform maps, IRE and reconciliation, and CMDB health reporting.
- Apply CSDM concepts, ownership attestation, lifecycle controls, and traceable data remediation.
- Distinguish source defects from stewardship gaps.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Maintain CMDB accuracy, completeness, and stewardship; investigate duplicate or stale records and coordinate remediation with source owners.
- Maintain approved IRE and source-precedence rules; escalate model and security decisions to Digital Workplace.
- Produce stewardship procedures, a source/owner register, reconciliation controls, and a quality baseline and remediation backlog.
- Maintain agreed-scope relationships and service links and provide attestation, exception, and control-ready remediation evidence.
- Hand over data dictionaries, BAU runbooks, and internal training with clear stewardship accountability.
