Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Design

• Design and govern the Cloudera CDP architecture in alignment with Data Lakehouse target state.
• Define and validate architectural patterns for data ingestion, processing, and analytics workloads.
• Ensure proper implementation of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) on Cloudera.

Core Cloudera Components

• Architect and oversee solutions using:
• HDFS for distributed storage
• Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
• Hive and Impala for data warehousing and analytics
• Kafka for real-time and near real-time ingestion
• NiFi
• Apache Ozone
• HBase
• Kudu
• Spark
• Hive
• Impala
• Solr
• Phoenix
• Hive Meta Store
• Apache Iceberg
• Hue
• Cloudera AI
• Apache Knox
• Apache Ranger
• Ensure efficient interaction between these components and upstream/downstream platforms.

Performance & Scalability

• Lead performance tuning and optimization across:
• Spark jobs and execution plans
• Hive/Impala queries
• YARN resource allocation
• Define cluster sizing, capacity planning, and workload segregation strategies.
• Address performance bottlenecks and ensure reporting and analytics SLAs are met.

Security & Access Control

• Architect and enforce security standards using:
• Apache Ranger for authorization and data access control
• Kerberos for authentication
• Ensure compliance with data security, masking, and encryption requirements.
• Support auditability, traceability, and regulatory compliance needs.

Phase 1 Remediation Support

• Review and validate existing Cloudera implementations inherited from Phase 1.
• Identify configuration gaps, inefficiencies, or architectural anti-patterns.
• Define and guide remediation, rebuild, or optimization activities where required.

Operations, Monitoring & Stability

• Define monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices using Cloudera Manager .
• Support high availability, fault tolerance, and recovery mechanisms.
• Ensure ≥99.9% platform uptime and stability under production workloads.

Collaboration & Governance

• Work closely with Enterprise/Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Platform teams.
• Participate in design reviews, architectural governance forums, and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to development and operations teams.

• Exposure to BFSI regulatory and data governance requirements is preferred.
