Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Architect to join a leading real estate developer in Dubai.
Reporting directly to the Head of Design, this is a client-side position offering the opportunity to oversee the successful delivery of a high-profile development from a design quality and architectural compliance perspective.
The role will be split between the developer's Head Office in Dubai (3 days per week) and the project site office (2 days per week), providing a balance between design coordination and on-site project oversight.
As the developer's representative, you will play a key role in safeguarding the original design intent throughout the construction phase through technical query management, shop drawing review, material submittal review and ongoing site inspections.
You will ensure the highest standards of architectural execution are maintained and that the completed product accurately reflects the approved design vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary architectural representative for the developer during the construction phase.
- Respond to technical and design-related queries raised by contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site inspections and site walks to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Review shop drawings and provide feedback to ensure alignment with the approved design intent and project requirements.
- Review material submittals, samples and mock-ups to ensure compliance with approved specifications, finishes and design standards.
- Review architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and design standards.
- Ensure all architectural elements, materials, finishes and spatial decisions accurately reflect the approved design package.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues arising during construction.
- Coordinate closely with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment between design intent and site execution.
- Monitor architectural quality and workmanship standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide clear recommendations and decisive technical guidance to support project delivery.
- Support the Head of Design in maintaining consistency, quality and adherence to the project's architectural vision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 8–10 years of professional architectural experience.
- Proven experience overseeing projects during the construction stage.
- Strong understanding of architectural detailing, materials, construction methodologies and quality control.
- Previous experience representing a developer, client-side organisation, consultancy or architectural practice during site delivery phases is highly desirable.
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals and architectural technical documentation.
- Ability to confidently interpret drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Comfortable working both on-site and within a corporate office environment.
- This is a highly proactive role requiring regular site presence, sound technical judgement and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional architectural quality.
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a landmark development and play a key role in ensuring the finished product reflects the original vision and design excellence expected by the developer.
