Civil/Structural/Highway/Water Resources Engineering Internships (Summer 2027)

Internship Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and design.
• Prepare cohesive and organized engineering calculations.
• Detail and draft using 3D CADD software.
• Assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Develop task deliverables for Senior Engineer review.
• Perform assigned tasks according to schedule and budget.
• Work independently under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.
• Participate in field inspections of future project locations and active construction sites.
• Assist with report writing.

Qualifications

• Be an engineering student with interest in civil, structural, or highway engineering.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in the office with engineering staff.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle report for final consideration.
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions in English.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams for documents and communication.
• Be able to traverse uneven construction-site terrain and wear required PPE.

Preferred Knowledge

• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred.

Compensation

• Hourly pay range is $16–$21.
