Role overview

Site inspection and coordination

• Monitor civil and infrastructure work against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality and safety requirements.
• Inspect earthworks, pavement layers, concrete, structural works, utilities, and related civil activities.
• Review and witness field and laboratory tests, verifying results against specifications.
• Check contractor compliance with approved inspection plans, method statements, and checklists.
• Prepare inspection requests, daily and site reports, non-conformance reports, and systematic project records.
• Review drawings and schedules, identify discrepancies, report technical issues, and support resolution of contractor queries.
• Coordinate with discipline inspectors, monitor quality-control procedures, and support corrective actions.
• Promote safe work practices, report unsafe conditions, and coordinate with HSE staff as required.
• Support the Resident Engineer and site visits by clients, authorities, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Ensure road and utility works comply with local authority requirements and standards.

Required qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of construction-supervision experience on infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of site construction practices and supervision procedures from the consultant or engineer’s side.
• Ability to interpret civil and infrastructure drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency preparing inspection and daily reports and maintaining systematic records.
• Ability to work in a site-based, fast-paced environment within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to attend in-person interviews.

Desired qualifications

• Familiarity with local authority standards and requirements for roads and utilities is advantageous.
• Prior consultancy experience is advantageous.
