The position is based in the Dubai office.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience as a Civil Estimator in construction or contracting companies.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimation software, such as Candy, CostX, Primavera, or Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate residential, industrial, infrastructure, and defense projects using CCS or other estimation software.
  • Read and interpret proposal documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract conditions, and summarize proposal requirements.
  • Take off quantities using PlanSwift or other takeoff software.
  • Verify quantities prepared by quantity surveyors across disciplines.
  • Prepare bills of quantities from scratch in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
  • Prepare estimates using CCS or other estimation software, including detailed labor, material, and equipment analysis.
  • Prepare subcontract RFQ documents, send enquiries to suitable vendors, and evaluate subcontractors' technical and commercial offers.
  • Prepare FAR, DFAR, and other US DoD standard contract conditions.
  • Track prime or main contract deliverables from award through contract completion.
