Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Civil Estimator role based in Doha, Qatar.
The Civil Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, infrastructure, landscaping, and related construction projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
The role includes performing quantity take-offs, analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs, and obtaining quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
The Civil Estimator will compare alternative construction methods for cost efficiency, prepare BOQs and pricing summaries, and support bid submissions and technical clarifications.
The role also involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, maintaining an updated cost database, and participating in value engineering and risk assessment activities.
Qualifications
- Strong estimating and quantity surveying skills for civil, infrastructure, and landscaping works, including quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents for various civil and MEP-related projects.
- Experience with estimating and construction software (e.g., Excel advanced functions, estimation tools, and basic AutoCAD skills preferred).
- Knowledge of local construction market rates, materials, labor, and subcontractor pricing in Qatar or the GCC region.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, standards, and codes relevant to civil works, infrastructure, and site development.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tenders or estimates, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; professional certifications in estimating or QS are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Civil Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or similar role in contracting companies; experience in Qatar is highly desirable.
