Role Description
This is a full-time Civil Engineer role based in Sharjah, operating in a hybrid model with a mix of on-site and work-from-home days.
The Civil Engineer will contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of infrastructure projects, including utilities, transportation, and smart city initiatives.
Typical responsibilities include preparing engineering drawings and calculations, supporting stormwater management designs, and coordinating topographic and construction surveys.
The role involves reviewing technical specifications, assisting with cost estimates and tender documents, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
The Civil Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend site visits and inspections, and provide technical input throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply core principles to infrastructure projects.
- Experience working as part of Civil Engineering teams (Civil Engineers) on planning and execution of projects, including coordination with survey and utility stakeholders.
- Knowledge of project Planning for infrastructure works, including scheduling tasks, monitoring progress, and supporting project documentation.
- Practical experience or coursework in Stormwater Management, including drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, and stormwater infrastructure detailing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; professional registration or progress toward licensure is an advantage.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar), and familiarity with surveying work.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a diverse, multidisciplinary, and multicultural environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
