Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Civil Engineer will support the design, structural analysis, and safe execution of exhibition stands and temporary structures, ensuring compliance with local codes, venue requirements, and company standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing design concepts, preparing structural calculations and drawings, selecting appropriate materials, and coordinating with designers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
The role also involves conducting site visits, supervising installation to ensure structural stability and safety, and resolving technical issues during construction and dismantling.
The Civil Engineer will collaborate closely with suppliers and authorities as needed, maintain accurate project documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in civil and structural engineering, including load calculations, structural analysis, and familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with engineering and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, SAP2000 or similar) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods relevant to temporary structures, including steel, wood, aluminum, and modular systems.
- Experience in site supervision, coordination with contractors and vendors, and resolving technical issues during installation and dismantling phases.
- Strong project coordination skills, including time management, prioritization, and the ability to work under tight event deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to clearly explain technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; professional certification or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
- Previous experience in exhibitions, events, interior fit-out, or temporary structures is highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site in Dubai and occasionally work flexible hours to meet project and event schedules.
- Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
