Role description
Support engineering design, technical analysis, project implementation, and process optimization across engineering operations.
The role covers civil engineering or chemical engineering activities, depending on discipline.
Engineering delivery
- Review technical specifications, prepare engineering documentation, evaluate project requirements, and support design solutions.
- Conduct technical assessments, interpret engineering data, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, technical specialists, and stakeholders to resolve challenges and maintain project requirements.
Civil engineering activities
- Assess construction plans, review structural and infrastructure drawings, coordinate project activities, and monitor construction quality.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards.
Chemical engineering activities
- Analyze chemical processes, evaluate process performance, and support equipment selection.
- Monitor production parameters and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, product quality, and resource utilization.
Reporting and improvement
- Prepare technical reports, support inspections and testing, and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to quality assurance, environmental compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement.
Education and technical knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical specifications, design methods, and project implementation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering calculations, process diagrams, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with discipline-relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, Aspen Plus, or MATLAB.
Discipline-specific knowledge
- Civil engineering-related activities call for knowledge of construction materials, structural systems, and infrastructure planning.
- Chemical engineering-related activities call for knowledge of chemical processes, material balances, process control, and equipment operations.
- Understanding of quality assurance, risk assessment, workplace safety, and applicable engineering standards.
Skills and approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for technical documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
