Chinese Project Manager (Construction)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage subcontracted earthworks, foundations, structural works, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, steelwork, finishes, and external infrastructure and utility works.
• Evaluate and prequalify subcontractors and suppliers; manage tendering, quotations, negotiations, and contract administration.
• Prepare execution plans and schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate disciplines and subcontractors.
• Manage quality, HSE, schedule, cost, and project risks; resolve site issues.
• Review quantities and manage variations, site instructions, design changes, claims, and final accounts.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, designers, and UAE government authorities.
• Oversee mobilization, approvals, construction, inspections, handover, and project close-out.
• Ensure regulatory, quality, and HSE compliance and help improve project management systems and operational efficiency.

Mandatory qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of civil construction project management experience, including 3 years in the UAE.
• Must have managed at least one complete civil construction project in the UAE.
• Knowledge of UAE construction procedures, regulations, specifications, quality acceptance standards, and HSE requirements.
• Experience with government approvals and coordination with clients, consultants, and authorities.
• Knowledge of UAE construction materials, methods, and labor management practices.
• Familiarity with subcontractor management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Proficient in drawing review, quantity take-off, cost control, contract administration, variations, and claims.
• Able to manage projects independently and lead, organize, coordinate, and manage teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and commonly used project management software.
• Good written and spoken English for daily work communications.

Preferred qualifications

• Established local subcontractor and supplier networks are preferred.
• PRC Class I or Class II Constructor Certificates and Intermediate or Senior Engineer professional titles are preferred.
• FIDIC Contract Conditions and international project management practices are advantageous.
• A valid UAE driving license is preferred.

Languages

Pay

• Pay is stated as starting at AED 1.00 per month.
