Location

  • Gordon Family YMCA, Sumner, WA
  • As a Child Watch Attendant, you will ensure a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of age or older.
  • Six months or more of related experience (preferred).
  • Comfort and confidence working with children.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (preferred).
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age
  • Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children
  • Play actively with the children by adapting activities to the needs of each
  • Communicate with parents regarding their children's behavior and safety
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order in the child watch area
