Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s technology strategy aligned with business goals and product roadmap.
- Lead engineering, architecture, DevOps/SRE, security, and QA functions; build and scale high‑performing technical teams and culture.
- Own technical architecture decisions, system design standards, and technology stack choices to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive product‑engineering alignment: collaborate with product, design, and business leaders on roadmaps, prioritization, and tradeoffs.
- Establish development processes, delivery practices, CI/CD, testing, and observability to improve velocity and quality.
- Oversee security, compliance, and risk management programs (application security, data protection, incident response).
- Manage technical budget, vendor relationships, and third‑party integrations; evaluate and recommend tools and platforms.
- Mentor senior technical leaders and groom engineering managers; recruit top technical talent and define org structure.
- Set and track engineering KPIs (uptime, MTTR, deployment frequency, cycle time, quality metrics) and report to executive leadership and board as needed.
- Lead major technical initiatives: platform builds, cloud migrations, performance and cost optimization, and technical due diligence for M&A.
- Foster innovation through R&D, prototyping, and technology scouting; balance technical debt and new feature delivery.
- Represent the technology organization externally with customers, partners, and investors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in senior technical leadership roles with progressive responsibility; prior CTO, VP/Head of Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
- Strong technical background across software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), security, data systems, and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated track record of scaling engineering teams, delivering complex products, and operating high‑availability systems.
- Strategic thinker with business acumen: experience translating business goals into technical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills; experience interacting with executive teams and boards.
- Deep understanding of modern development practices: Agile, DevOps/SRE, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud‑native architectures.
- Experience with budgeting, vendor negotiation, and resource planning.
- Preferred skills
- Experience in the company’s industry (SaaS, fintech, e‑commerce, healthcare, etc.).
- Background in product management, data engineering, ML/AI, or security depending on company focus.
- Prior experience with fundraising, public company reporting, or M&A technical due diligence.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in CS, Engineering, or MBA is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: QAR350.25 - QAR1,150.12 per hour
