Chief Security Architect

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design secure system and network architectures and review application designs for security risks.
• Establish cybersecurity and information security policies and standards.
• Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to integrate security controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, guide remediation, monitor threats, and advise on security tooling.
• Lead security architecture reviews and support incident response planning and preparedness.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in security architecture design, including frameworks, reference architectures, and standards aligned with business objectives.
• Strong application security expertise, including secure design, threat modeling, code review, and vulnerability management for web and cloud applications.
• Deep cybersecurity knowledge covering risk assessment, threat analysis, incident response guidance, and governance.
• Advanced network security skills, including segmentation, firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure connectivity.
• Information security knowledge covering data protection, access control, policies, compliance frameworks, and awareness guidance.
• Experience leading security programs or architecture functions in technology-driven organizations; analytics or SaaS experience is preferred.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and ability to influence leadership decisions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or CCSP certifications are advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate across distributed teams and manage part-time priorities in a hybrid setting.
