The Chief Engineer – Projects leads project management for multi-phase repositioning and enhancement works at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai.
The role manages daily project activity while ensuring hotel facilities and systems operate properly.
The role directs inspections, evaluations, asset management, and oversight of contractor- and consultant-occupied work areas.
The Chief Engineer supports the Director of Engineering in improving project delivery and guest and employee satisfaction.
Education and experience
- Minimum of eight years of project experience, including at least three years in the UAE.
- Degree or higher diploma in project management, civil engineering, or a technical field.
Scope and qualifications
- Strong project management, leadership, customer focus, relationship skills, and commitment to team success.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively.
- Ability to review contract documents and interpret drawings from all trades.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in DWG and CAD; excellent administrative skills.
- Additional languages suited to the region are described as ideal.
Engineering and project delivery
- Coordinate MEP, civil engineering, HVAC, and asset lifecycle activities to maintain rigorous engineering standards.
- Manage design coordination, spatial planning, material selection, and aesthetic quality control.
- Oversee project design, commercial stewardship, contracts, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate government approvals and compliance with fire, life, and safety rules.
- Identify logistics and operational bottlenecks before they disrupt project delivery.
- Help maintain required building permits and licenses, facility regulatory compliance, and departmental standards.
- Ensure employees have appropriate supplies, equipment, uniforms, and personal protective equipment.

Listen actively and communicate complex information clearly using appropriate styles.
