Inspect the building, plantrooms and operating equipment, identify defects and follow through on repairs and maintenance requests.

Maintain a strong focus on life safety, essential services, occupational health and safety, and safe work practices.

Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules, guest room servicing and work requests using HOTSOS and asset records.

Manage contractors and external trades, ensuring they follow hotel procedures, safety requirements and guest contact standards.

Coordinate hotel projects, including mid-sized FF&E and CAPEX works, and work with the redevelopment project team on engineering matters affecting hotel operations.

Monitor engineering costs, staffing, rosters, leave and payroll, while identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve value.

Track utility consumption, report on energy use and support conservation initiatives and training.

Keep accurate engineering logs, inspection records and maintenance documentation, and report significant issues to hotel management.

Provide engineering support during after-hours emergencies when required.

What you’ll bring

Experience leading an engineering or facilities team, ideally in a hotel or similarly complex operating environment.

Strong practical knowledge of building services, plant and equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance planning.

A clear commitment to workplace safety, life safety systems, compliance and contractor management.

The ability to organise competing priorities, contribute to projects and make sound decisions under pressure.

A collaborative leadership style: you communicate clearly, build trust, coach others and work effectively with colleagues, project teams and contractors.
