Role Description
The Chief Accounting Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities for Rich Chocolatier.
This role leads the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings.
Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring the general ledger, supervising month-end and year-end closing processes, managing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
The Chief Accounting Officer collaborates with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions and business growth.
The role also involves developing accounting policies, guiding audit activities, mentoring accounting team members, and implementing process improvements and financial systems enhancements.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting foundation, including Accounting and Finance skills, with experience leading an accounting function.
- Expertise in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, including consolidation, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Relevant professional certification such as Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, CA) strongly preferred.
- Experience with internal controls, audits, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, and strong Excel skills.
- Proven leadership skills, including team management, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; familiarity with regional regulations and practices in Qatar is an advantage.
