Role Description

The Chief Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Jeddah, responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of Awraad Hotel.

Day-to-day tasks include managing the general ledger, supervising accounts payable and receivable, handling bank reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing.

The role will prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports, and monitor adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and local regulatory requirements.

The Chief Accountant will coordinate with internal departments, auditors, and external partners, support cost control and revenue analysis, and provide management with financial insights for decision-making.

The position also involves leading and mentoring the accounting team, improving processes, and implementing systems that enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with general ledger management, financial statements, and month-end closing.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis to support financial planning and performance monitoring.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, audit processes, and relevant local tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software, as well as strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, hotels, or service-oriented industries is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including team supervision, workload prioritization, and staff development.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with accuracy under time constraints.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Jeddah and maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality in all financial matters.
