Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic **Chief Accountant** to lead our finance function in Doha.
This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management across all company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger, payables, receivables, and payroll
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and company policies
- Direct month-end and year-end closing processes
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management
- Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making
- Coordinate and manage external and internal audit processes
- Strengthen internal controls and implement best practices in financial management
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly preferred
- Minimum of 8–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and construction industry accounting practices
- Proven experience in financial planning, reporting, and compliance
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
