Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant with a strong background in the construction industry for a short-term, 2-month contractual assignment.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of managing financial operations independently within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable
- Manage project accounting, cost tracking, and budget monitoring for construction projects
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and company policies
- Handle cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning
- Coordinate with auditors and support audit requirements
- Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial accuracy
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff if required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, costing, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems
- Solid understanding of UAE financial regulations and VAT
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Must be available to join immediately
- Must hold a valid UAE visa (own visa required)
Preferred
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA (part/full qualified)
