About the Role

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging chemistry lesson plans that meet American curriculum standards.
• Teach chemistry courses to high school students, including but not limited to general chemistry, honors chemistry, and advanced placement (AP) chemistry.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Assess student performance through exams, lab reports, and other evaluation methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during experiments.
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
• Collaborate with other science department members to align curriculum and share best practices.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in chemistry education and pedagogy.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in school-related activities, such as parent-teacher conferences, extracurricular clubs, and school events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/master's degree in chemistry with an educational diploma. A minimum of 2 years experience as a high school chemistry teacher. IELTS 6.5
• Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.
• An excellent team player both within the department and across phases.
