Full-time, on-site Chef de Partie role at Assila, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in Jeddah.
Manage a designated kitchen section and ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee mise en place and cook and plate dishes according to hotel standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and appearance; support menu execution and coordinate with Commis Chefs.
- Collaborate with Sous Chefs and the Head Chef to meet service demands.
- Monitor food safety and hygiene, manage stock rotation, and minimize waste.
- Contribute to training junior team members and participate actively in service.
- Communicate with kitchen and service teams; work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or a diploma from a recognized culinary school or hospitality institute.
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef in a hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or upscale culinary environment.
- Strong preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations skills in at least one section: hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, or grill.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, hygiene, and sanitation.
- Able to prioritize tasks, manage mise en place, and maintain a clean, efficient workstation under pressure.
- Able to guide, train, and motivate junior team members and contribute to a respectful, inclusive workplace.
- Effective communication and collaboration with multicultural kitchen and service teams.
- Flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays and adapt to changing business needs.
- Basic understanding of cost awareness, portion control, and waste reduction.
Preferred experience and language
- Luxury hotel or premium culinary experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Working proficiency in English; Arabic is beneficial.
