Position details

Food preparation and service

• Prepare special meals or substitutes, cook according to recipes and quality and presentation standards, and prepare cold foods.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food; operate ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; thaw frozen food in the refrigerator.
• Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Communicate staffing assistance needs during busy periods and tell food service staff about specials and items out of stock.

Team and workplace duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; act as a role model.
• Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions, and complete safety training.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and respond to guest service needs.
• Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality standards.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, pull, stoop, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• At least 3 years of related work experience is preferred.
• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
