The Chef de Partie handles daily food preparation and assigned kitchen duties to meet established standards and quality expectations.
The position is based in IHG’s luxury hotel in Doha.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Prepare daily mise en place and food production across sections of the main kitchen.
- Coordinate tasks with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef and follow supervisors’ instructions.
- Maintain consistent quality and keep current with products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
- Lead subordinate staff in food preparation and take part in setting up and supervising buffets and special functions.
- Coordinate requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control with other kitchen sections.
- Check daily requirements, functions, and last-minute events.
- Guide and train subordinates to support motivation and economical working practices.
Candidate requirements
- Similar experience in a luxury hotel is sought.
- A business-related degree or equivalent and experience in learning and development methods are listed as desired competencies.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a result-oriented, self-motivated approach.
- Excellent written and spoken English; an additional language is an advantage.
