The Chef de Partie prepares and oversees high-quality dishes while contributing to guest hospitality experiences.
Kitchen and team responsibilities
- Prepare food, beverages, materials, and equipment in advance of service; cook and serve dishes according to the restaurant menu.
- Direct kitchen helpers, clean and reset the work area, and conduct shift briefings when the Manager is absent.
- Coordinate with the superior and People Services Manager to support productive departmental performance.
- Conduct on-the-job training, maintain staff progress records, and contribute to probation and performance appraisals.
- Ensure new staff complete corporate orientation within one month and departmental orientation within two weeks.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline staff for policy or procedure breaches, using constructive feedback.
- Support departmental budget preparation and management, understand financial targets, and promote cost-saving measures and recycling.
- Log security incidents and accidents and communicate operational difficulties and guest or internal customer feedback to the superior.
- Follow food safety standards, hygiene rules, and food safety checklists, ensuring checks are monitored on time.
