Role Description
We are looking for a CDP (Chef de Partie) specializing in South Indian cuisine for a full-time, on-site position in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The CDP will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking South Indian dishes to a high standard, while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
Additional responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and consistency, managing inventory, and assisting in menu development.
The CDP will collaborate with the team to create an exceptional dining experience that aligns with MAK CAFE's values.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing and presenting South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, sambar, chutneys, and other regional specialties
- Expertise in kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and portion control
- Strong skills in food presentation, quality control, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards
- Leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
- Creativity and innovation in recipe development and new menu creation
- Prior experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in South Indian cuisine
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency in time management and multitasking in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
