Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site CDP (Chef de Partie) role for an Italian Restaurant located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The CDP will oversee a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring consistent preparation, cooking, and presentation of Italian dishes according to restaurant standards.
Responsibilities include organizing the mise en place, executing menu items accurately, maintaining quality and portion control, and supporting smooth service during busy periods.
The role involves collaborating closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, training and guiding junior staff, and upholding food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
The CDP will also assist with stock control, receiving deliveries, and suggesting improvements to menus, workflows, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong food service and food preparation skills, with proven experience in an Italian kitchen or similar high-volume, quality-driven environment.
- Effective communication and customer service mindset, with the ability to coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Experience supporting hiring, onboarding, and training of junior kitchen team members, including commis and kitchen assistants.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards, and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized workstation.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail during peak service hours.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent professional training is preferred; relevant certifications in food safety are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a CDP or Demi CDP in a reputable restaurant or hotel, ideally in Dubai or the wider GCC, is highly desirable.
