Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site CCTV Technician role based in the United Arab Emirates.
The CCTV Technician will install, configure, test, and maintain CCTV systems and related security equipment at client sites, including cameras, NVR/DVR units, network switches, cabling, and power supplies.
The role involves conducting site surveys, routing and terminating cables, mounting and aligning cameras, and ensuring optimal system coverage and image quality.
The technician will diagnose and resolve technical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and document configurations, service reports, and inventory of equipment.
Responsibilities also include coordinating with project engineers, adhering to safety procedures and company standards, providing basic user orientation to clients, and supporting integration of CCTV with other ELV and security systems.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in CCTV installation, configuration, and maintenance, including experience with IP and analog cameras, NVR/DVR systems, and related peripherals.
- Practical knowledge of low-voltage systems, network cabling (UTP, fiber), terminations, and basic networking concepts (IP addressing, switches, routers).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, cable schedules, and manufacturer manuals for CCTV and ELV systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing system tests, and using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and security standards for on-site work, including safe use of ladders, power tools, and personal protective equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, supervisors, and site teams.
- Minimum of a technical diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field; relevant vendor or security system certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a CCTV Technician or in a similar ELV/low-voltage role, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage; ability to travel to different project sites as required.
