Role Overview
The Category Marketing Manager will drive growth, positioning, and profitability of assigned product categories within the edible oils & fats portfolio.
This role requires a strong blend of consumer understanding, trade insight, and execution capability to build brand preference and increase market share across retail, modern trade, and HORECA channels.
Category Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute category growth plans aligned with overall business objectives
- Identify opportunities across product segments (premium oils, health-focused variants, bulk packs, etc.)
- Monitor category performance and implement corrective actions to meet revenue and margin targets
Brand & Product Management
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of products within the category
- Lead new product launches including positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints
Market & Consumer Insights
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior
- Translate insights into actionable strategies to drive demand and differentiation
- Identify emerging trends such as health-conscious consumption, organic products, and value packs
Pricing & Profitability
- Develop pricing strategies based on market dynamics and cost structures
- Monitor margins and ensure optimal product mix to maximize profitability
Digital & Campaign Management
- Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels
- Collaborate with agencies for content, branding, and campaign execution
- Track campaign performance and ROI
Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise with supply chain, sales, and finance teams to ensure alignment
- Manage product availability, forecasting, and inventory planning
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5–10 years of experience in FMCG marketing, preferably in food/edible categories
- Strong understanding of retail dynamics (modern trade, general trade, and HORECA)
- Proven track record in category management and brand growth
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Experience in product launches and campaign management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to edible oils, dairy fats, or food commodities
- Experience in GCC/Middle East markets is a plus
- Familiarity with health-focused or premium FMCG segments
