About the role

Permanent, full-time Category Lead role focused on seed category performance across Elders' regional retail branch network.

Reports to the Region Retail Manager and supports branch retail teams with specialist expertise and guidance.

Location

  • Ideally based in Toowoomba; candidates from anywhere in Queensland or Northern NSW may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional implementation of national retail strategy and deliver category targets and commercial outcomes.
  • Develop regional growth initiatives across products, customer segments, markets, and channels.
  • Build branch capability with product, service, and sales-process knowledge, category insights, sales tools, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Work with retail leadership, Branch Managers, agronomists, and branch retail teams to execute category plans and improve margins.
  • Manage supplier and technical representative relationships to support category growth, product adoption, and regional performance.

About you

  • A Business, Agriculture, or related degree, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Agricultural industry experience, ideally in rural products, retail, or agribusiness.
  • Strong knowledge of product logistics, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Branch management experience is desirable; strong commercial acumen across margins, inventory, and return on capital is sought.
  • Understanding of marketing, pricing, product ranging, margin management, and promotional planning and execution.
  • Relevant category accreditation, such as Agsafe, ChemCert, nutrition, or animal health, is desirable or required where applicable.
