Casting Operator

General Summary Implements, executes and conducts activities of Ladle Operator required to effectively carry out the ladle teeming operation in the SMP1 Caster.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities) Carries out Casting Operator duties assigned by the Supervisor, according to production requirements.

Ensures sufficient availability of Casting consumables and tools required for CC operation.

Ensures that all Casting safety precautions in the machine are working and abides by the Company safety policy.

Ensures that Casting work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances to minimize Steel Making Plant hazards.

Confirm readiness of machine for new casting sequence and check machine parts.

Follow the instruction for replacing mould assemblies, as well as radioactive sources.

Ensures the effective execution of casting operational policies covering all areas of the casting plant, so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled, while delivering a cost –effective quality product to RM operation.

In case of an emergency, cooperates and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions specified by the Casting Supervisor.

Shall be responsible for performing casting activities, as specified in the Emirates Steel QS Program, to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, ASME Code and Customer requirements.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities To impart training for new employees.

To coordinate with Crane Drivers and Billet Handling Controllers regarding the quality of billets supplied by the CC plant.

To coordinate with EAF/LF and Refractories Team on a regular basis, to optimise the productivity of the Plant.

Sufficient technical knowledge of casting and casting parameters Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves) Preferred professional training (Nice to have) Higher Secondary School/ITI In-depth technical knowledge of Steel Making and Continuous Casting operations Professional Experience (Must Haves)

Recommended (Nice to have) Minimum 3-5 years in a Steel Plant as a Casting Operator Around 5 Years in steel making plant with billets caster industry Ability to cut with oxy-cutting and welding
