About the role
The cashier role covers cash accounting, bookkeeping, payment processing, receivables, invoicing, and bank deposits.
Cash accounting and reporting
- Record daily receipts, disbursements, petty cash, and bank transactions.
- Prepare cash balance logs, expense vouchers, and deposit slips; count cash and reconcile it against accounting records.
- Submit cash reports and transaction summaries; assist with monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and financial closing.
Controls, receivables, and payments
- Maintain payment, deposit, and reimbursement documentation, follow financial policies and authorization procedures, and support audit checks.
- Process customer payments, update receivable records, issue accurate VAT invoices on request, and assist with pending collections.
- Process approved online banking payments and make cash and cheque deposits at bank counters when needed.
- Maintain required payment approvals and supporting documents.
