Job Summary
The Cashier / Accountant is responsible for handling daily cash transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting financial operations, and ensuring compliance with UAE accounting and VAT regulations.
The role requires strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and experience in accounting software and cash handling within a trading company environment.
Cash Handling & Transactions
- Receive and process cash, cheque, card, and online payments accurately.
- Maintain daily cash register and petty cash records.
- Prepare daily cash collection reports and reconcile cash balances.
- Deposit cash and cheques into company bank accounts.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all payment receipts and vouchers.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Record daily accounting transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Maintain Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) records.
- Prepare customer invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer accounts regularly.
- Maintain general ledger and accounting records accurately.
- Assist in monthly closing, financial reporting, and audit support activities.
VAT & Compliance
- Maintain VAT-related documentation and assist in VAT filing as per UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and operational information.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized filing systems for invoices, delivery notes, and financial records.
- Support management with financial reports and operational documentation when required.
& Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Minimum 4–6 years of accounting/cashier experience, preferably in a UAE trading company.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, ERP, or SAP.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Good communication skills in English & Hindi, Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
