Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role located in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.

The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer purchases, handling cash, card, and digital payments, and issuing receipts while following store policies and procedures.

Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, scanning items, packing purchases, managing returns or exchanges within guidelines, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

The role also involves answering basic customer inquiries, directing customers to appropriate departments, and coordinating with store staff to ensure smooth front-end operations.

The Cashier is expected to follow all safety and loss prevention procedures and support a positive, respectful store environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, including polite communication, patience, and a helpful attitude toward a diverse customer base.
  • Basic math and numeracy skills, with the ability to handle cash accurately and balance a cash drawer at the end of a shift.
  • Comfort using point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanners, and payment terminals, with willingness to learn new retail technologies.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, handle repetitive tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Reliable time management and organizational skills, with the ability to follow instructions and store procedures consistently.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing roles is an advantage but not always required.
  • Basic proficiency in English; additional language skills commonly used in the region are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; openness to training and ongoing skill development is essential.
