Carpenter

Job Purpose

Carpentry & Maintenance Works

• Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, doors, windows, cabinets, wardrobes, partitions, and related fittings.
• Carry out routine inspections of camp facilities to identify carpentry-related defects and maintenance requirements.
• Repair damaged furniture, beds, tables, chairs, lockers, shelving units, and other camp assets.
• Replace damaged locks, hinges, handles, door closers, and other hardware as required.
• Perform minor building maintenance and finishing works related to carpentry.

Fabrication & Installation

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood, plywood, laminates, and other materials according to specifications.
• Construct and modify furniture, storage units, shelving, and partitions as required by operational needs.
• Ensure all installations are completed accurately and safely.

Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct preventive maintenance on camp furniture and fixtures to extend their lifespan.
• Identify wear and tear issues and recommend timely repairs or replacements.
• Assist in refurbishment and renovation projects within camp facilities.

Tools, Equipment & Materials

• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools, machinery, and materials.
• Monitor material consumption and report stock requirements to the supervisor.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when carrying out tasks.
• Ensure safe operation of power tools and carpentry equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent accidents and hazards.

Documentation & Reporting

• Report maintenance issues, completed work, and material requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities as required.
• Notify management of major repairs or replacement requirements.

General Duties

• Assist other maintenance personnel when required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from camp management and operational departments.
• Participate in emergency maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Trade Certificate, ITI, or vocational qualification in Carpentry is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Carpenter in camps, facilities management, hospitality, construction, industrial sites, or similar environments.
• Experience working in remote site camps or workforce accommodation facilities is an advantage.
• Familiarity with furniture repair, woodwork installation, and general building maintenance.
• Pay: AED1,200.00 - AED1,500.00 per month
