  • The Cargo Operations Service Specialist will provide operational oversight for Global Operations Services (GOS), overseeing cargo handling tenders, station start-ups, and supplier performance.
  • Ensures compliance, continuity, and efficient delivery while bridging strategic direction with day-to-day operations to support contract renewals, audits, and network growth.
  • In this role you will:
  • Manage tender processes and station start-ups with key stakeholders, developing and maintaining Ground Handling Agent (GHA) evaluation, selection, and renewal frameworks aligned with Group Procurement governance, regulatory requirements, industry developments, and Emirates SkyCargo strategy.
  • Manage Cargo Operations Services Officers (COSO) activities and workload allocation, providing functional guidance on technical evaluations and projects. Ensure knowledge sharing, team continuity, and capability development to support succession planning.
  • Prioritise tender projects and validate evaluations and scoring with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with established tender processes. Approve and take accountability for site inspection outcomes, operational readiness reports, and transition plans for new or renewed GHAs.
  • Support COSOs during supplier negotiations to ensure all requirements are addressed, verifying contract services, clauses, and supplier commitments, and aligning final tender decisions with Procurement and Logistics (P&L).
  • Collaborate with Learning & Talent (L&T) to maintain the operational training framework and enhance course content and delivery. Liaise with P&L, Emirates Group Legal, and key stakeholders to ensure aligned execution of station and contract initiatives and represent GOS in cross-functional SkyCargo projects.
  • Participate in supplier Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), ensuring actions and Service Improvement Notices are tracked to closure. Lead COSO efforts to standardise Standard Ground Handling Agreement (SGHA) templates, Service Level Agreement (SLA) versions, and renewal tracking, while providing technical guidance and coaching on supplier relationship management and operational issues.
  • Execute action items from strategic initiatives as directed by the Cargo Handling Services and Performance Manager and provide regular progress updates on implementation.

Qualification

  • In order to be successful in this role, you must meet the below requirements:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in cargo operations, handling procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Solid understanding of SGHA, IATA regulations (Airport Handling Manual - AHM 801, ISAGO), and global cargo handling standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), training standards, and performance scoring systems.
  • Team leadership and delegation.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
