Capacity Planning Optimization Lead - Fleet Economy and Planning

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own capacity planning for Meta products and services and determine how to scale server and data center resources efficiently.
• Build and execute end-to-end pricing policies and processes for virtual and physical resources.
• Design and operate integrated planning across strategic, tactical/operational, and execution horizons.
• Develop company-wide infrastructure planning programs, strategies, and methodologies.
• Partner with Finance and business teams to balance cost efficiency with technical and product needs.
• Develop scenarios and trade-offs for major infrastructure decisions; communicate pricing and planning decisions to executives.
• Contribute to tools and technology strategy, and work cross-functionally to define problems, collect data, and recommend optimization.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience; the posting also lists a directly related bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 16+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or hardware, with strategy, capacity planning, or technology strategy consulting experience.
• Experience leading enterprise planning processes with frequent executive interaction.
• Experience translating complex data and ambiguity into recommendations; applying business and financial analysis; framing infrastructure problems and strategies; and completing multiple optimization projects.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience establishing infrastructure planning processes at hyperscale cloud or infrastructure providers is preferred.
• AI tools and ongoing AI skill development for workflow optimization are preferred, including prompt/context engineering or agent orchestration.
• Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices is preferred.

Compensation

• Base salary is $219,000–$301,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
• Individual compensation depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
