Café Supervisor/Manager

Position overview

Service and team operations

• Manage daily opening, closing, service, food and beverage preparation, customer flow, and front- and back-of-house coordination.
• Schedule and assign staff, brief teams, supervise performance and attendance, and coach employees on service, products, POS, food handling, hygiene, and procedures.

Sales, cash, and reporting

• Monitor sales, transactions, average spending, customer satisfaction, and operational KPIs; support sales and profitability targets.
• Manage POS, payments, refunds, discounts, cash reconciliation, and records of sales, expenses, wastage, incidents, and operations.

Product, inventory, and suppliers

• Maintain approved food and beverage recipes, quality, portions, and presentation.
• Manage inventory, stock counts, FIFO, purchasing, replenishment, supplier coordination, and wastage and cost controls.

Safety, facilities, and customer engagement

• Keep the café, kitchen, storage, equipment, and customer areas clean and maintained; ensure food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, inspections, reservations, private bookings, group orders, events, promotions, and customer feedback.

Manager-level scope

• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, reviews, discipline, and staff development.
• Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, control expenses, review pricing and menu performance, and support planning and business improvements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in café, restaurant, coffee shop, food and beverage, hospitality, or retail operations.
• Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree and supervisory or management experience are preferred.
• Requires understanding of café operations, customer service, food preparation, POS, inventory, staff leadership, safety, and commercial cost controls.
• Experience with POS, inventory, scheduling, CRM, accounting, or café systems and additional languages are advantages.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours during peaks or events.
