Responsibilities

  • Purchases a variety of materials, supplies and services. Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all awards until completion of order. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
  • Summary: Amentum is seeking a professional with a strong skill set and growing expertise, trusted to lead complex work and contribute to broader team or project goals.
  • Scope, Knowledge & Application: Applies substantial understanding of the job to complete job duties and responsibilities. Possesses a thorough understanding of principles, concepts, practices, and standards in area of specialization.
  • Complexity & Problem Solving: Works on problems of a diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of factors. Independently selects methods and techniques to resolve a variety of complex problems.
  • Collaboration & Interaction: Builds an in-depth network with personnel both within and outside of functional area.
  • Degree of Supervision: Normally receives little to no instructions on routine work, and may occasionally receive general instructions on new projects or assignments. Work may be reviewed upon completion for consistence with departmental objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience or a Master's degree and 3+ years experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Must possess an Active U.S. government SECRET security clearance. (Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.)
