Workplace
- Hybrid role with three days in the office each week and remote work flexibility for the remainder.
- The posting identifies Manchester or Cheltenham as role locations.
Experience and technical requirements
- Proven Business Systems Analyst experience, ideally in financial services, fintech or a regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, XML, and JSON/YAML data structures.
- Practical understanding of RESTful API specifications, system integration patterns and cloud-based architecture.
- Strong command of the full SDLC; skilled in process mapping, data modelling, use cases, acceptance criteria and test strategies within Scrum and Kanban.
- Collaborative, adaptable problem-solver with strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to share knowledge and keep learning.
- Able to communicate complex system concepts to technical teams and senior non-technical executives, and engage clients and Technical Consultants.
- Comfortable using AI and automation tools to increase analytical speed and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements for new features and third-party integrations with Product Owners, Technical Consultants and clients; produce supporting documentation.
- Conduct gap analysis and design solutions, identifying data, user interface and process changes aligned with business needs, regulation and architecture.
- Support maintenance, upgrades, minor enhancements, bug fixes, production incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
- Optimize existing system capabilities, performance and usability.
- Collaborate across delivery squads, manage dependencies and refine backlogs; support integration and wider testing.
- Ensure functional deliverables are compliant and audit-ready; use AI and automation to streamline analysis.
